Michael Richardson

Michael is the CEO of Richardson Financial Group, which he founded in 1969. Mike is focused on the continued success of Richardson Financial Group, and a significant portion of his time is devoted to the strategic direction of the firm. He is equally committed to providing clients comprehensive wealth planning and management with concierge style service. Mike is a Member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

Mike has spent his career developing sophisticated tax and estate planning strategies to address the special needs of individuals and families that have accumulated significant wealth. With unique professional knowledge and insights gained through years of experience, Mike has developed and utilizes the Informed Decision Approach and other intellectual property and proprietary processes that help clients organize their thinking on important decisions they will face. Once their thinking is focused, he and his team advise and assist clients in making informed decisions.

Mike is a longtime member and past Board Member of the prestigious Forum 400, which brings financial service professionals together to exchange ideas on tax and estate planning. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the M&I Bank of Menomonee Falls. Mike is recognized as an expert in his field, and has addressed several professional groups and associations on estate planning and retirement distribution planning.

Scott Richardson

President/Senior Wealth Advisor

Scott Richardson is the President of Richardson Financial Group and Richardson Capital Management. In these roles, he spends the majority of his time developing and maintaining client relationships, serving as a firm expert in the development of sophisticated wealth transfer strategies and overseeing the firm’s investment management practice. Scott is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Investment Committee.

Prior to joining Richardson Financial Group in 1999, he spent time at Deloitte & Touche, LLP and Ernst & Young, LLP where he provided investment, estate and financial planning advice to affluent individuals and families.

Scott is very active in the financial services industry having served on the advisory board of several financial institutions as well as serving as a member of the board of directors of The Forum 400 (formerly International Forum) for seven years including one year serving as President. Richardson has spoken to national audiences on topics such as sophisticated wealth transfer strategies, creative life insurance strategies and practice management.

Scott earned his B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a double major in finance and risk management. He received his J.D. from Marquette University Law School and his LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law. He earned the certifications of Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) from the American College. Scott is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Daniel Brown

Director of Investment Management/Senior Wealth Advisor

Daniel Brown is the Director of Investment Management at Richardson. Dan’s responsibilities include investment research and portfolio management. In addition, Dan serves as a senior member of the client relationship team. Dan also serves as a Member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Investment Committee.

In his role as Director of Investment Management, Dan is responsible for overseeing the management of the investment strategies utilized in client portfolios. This includes investment due diligence/selection, portfolio construction, asset allocation and rebalancing of client portfolios.

Dan joined Richardson in May 2017 with over 20 years of investment management experience managing diversified portfolios, equity mutual funds and separate account strategies. Prior to joining Richardson, he was an Investment Officer at Annex Wealth Management where he was responsible for investment due diligence/selection, portfolio construction and asset allocation.

Previously, Dan spent 20 years at BMO Global Asset Management (formerly M&I Investment Management Corporation) where he held a variety of investment management roles. Dan was the Fund Manager of the BMO Dividend Income Mutual Fund and BMO Large-Cap Value Mutual Fund. In addition, Dan ran the firm’s Tax Efficient Portfolio Strategy and the Socially Responsible and Fundamental Index strategies.

Dan earned his BBA from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where he majored in Finance. Dan also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Nathan Corroy

Director of Financial Planning/Senior Wealth Advisor

Nathan Corroy is the Director of Financial Planning at Richardson. Nathan has over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry with a successful history of providing well-reasoned financial advice to clients. His breadth of experience and knowledge provides each client with straightforward solutions to complex personal financial matters.

Nathan is a senior member of the client relationship team at Richardson where he provides comprehensive wealth planning and management to clients. In addition, Nathan is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Investment Committee.

In his role as Director of Financial Planning Nathan is responsible for overseeing the development of cash flow and net worth projections, analysis of various financial transactions, tax and legal documents reviews and the development of analysis and recommendations regarding life and long-term care insurance policies.

Prior to joining Richardson, Nathan was the Financial Planning Manager for a Registered Investment Advisory firm in Minneapolis, MN where he provided comprehensive personal and estate planning services to clients. Other primary duties included investment analysis, trading, compliance and staff development.

Nathan earned a BS at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he majored in Personal Finance. Nathan also holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designations

Bryan Becker

Senior Wealth Advisor

Bryan Becker is a Senior Wealth Advisor with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. In his role with the firm, Bryan is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships and providing clients with comprehensive wealth management, which includes advising on investments, insurance, taxes, legal/estate planning, and a broad array of financial matters. He is a member of the firm’s Executive and Investment Committees and contributes to numerous firm initiatives.

Bryan brings a unique background to the firm, both personally and professionally. Having spent his early career in public accounting and corporate finance, he comes to us most recently having been the Chief Financial Officer of a multi-billion-dollar investment management firm. Prior to that role, Bryan gathered significant experience in complex financial modeling, cash flow projections, and scenario planning while assisting an institutional money manager go public through an IPO. Bryan also has uncommonly deep roots in our community. He was born in Menomonee Falls and is the 6th generation of the Becker family to call it home. Bryan’s ancestors arrived here from Germany in the 1840s – predating Wisconsin becoming a state and the founding of the Village of Menomonee Falls. Ironically, the land Richardson sits on was surrounded by the land Bryan’s ancestors once farmed.

It’s not only longevity that ties Bryan to our community; it is also through service. Bryan is an active volunteer in our community with positions on the executive board of Community Memorial Foundation, as treasurer of Elmbrook Youth Hockey Association, and as head coach of his son’s youth baseball team.

Bryan earned his BBA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he majored in both Finance and Accounting while also earning a Specialization in International Business. Bryan is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Bryan and his wife, Jessi, live in Menomonee Falls with their three children and golden-doodle, Bailey.

Mark Steele

Mark Steele is a Senior Wealth Advisor with six years of experience in the financial services industry. Mark has a successful history of providing well-reasoned advice to clients that allows them to create a secure financial future.

In his role as Senior Wealth Advisor, Mark is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships and providing clients with comprehensive wealth management. Mark’s passion is developing deep and meaningful relationships where he can serve as a trusted advisor to individuals and families. Mark also serves as the firm expert with regard to Medicare Insurance. Mark helps clients understand the process and products available when transitioning their health care to Medicare Insurance. In addition, he assists clients with the acquisition of the appropriate Medicare Supplement policies, Medicare Part C Advantage plans, and Part D drug plans. Mark is certified with a variety of insurance carriers which allows him to explore the advantages and disadvantages of the various plans available to ensure a proper fit.

Mark has 28 years of sales experience in the building industry where he was consistently a top performer stemming from his ability to listen carefully to clients, identify their specific needs and provide the appropriate solution. Mark started his transition to the financial services industry six years ago when he developed an expertise in the Medicare enrollment process and Medicare Insurance policies.

Mark earned his B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a major in marketing. Mark is also a proud alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Marching Band.

Mary Olson

Director of Investment Operations

Mary is the Director of Investment Operations at Richardson. In this role, she manages all operational aspects of the investment management practice. Her responsibilities include managing client cash needs, implementing trades, development and distribution of client performance reports, maintaining the client reporting database, and assisting with various internal quality control procedures. In addition, Mary plays a key role in monitoring and managing the compliance responsibilities for the firm.

Mary joined Richardson in September 2011 with over 14 years of experience in the investment field. Mary has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and minor in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Jodi Baumann

Director of Investment Client Service

Jodi is the Director of Investment Client Service at Richardson. In that role, she coordinates operational functions for client accounts, which includes new account set up, account transfers, daily account activity review, check requests and cash balance maintenance. She personally assists our clients with completing paperwork and answering any service related questions.

Jodi has over 20 years of experience in the financial services and insurance industry. Jodi worked at Northwestern Mutual and Strong Funds prior to joining Richardson in 2016. Jodi earned her license as a Life & Health Insurance agent in the State of Wisconsin.

Operations Manager

Katie is the Operations Manager at Richardson Financial Group. Janice Lubner

Office Manager/Director of Insurance Client Services

Janice is both the Office Manager and Director of Insurance Client Services at Richardson Financial Group. In her role as Office Manager, she is responsible for serving as the initial point of contact for clients, vendors, and guests of the firm. Janice is also responsible for maintaining and improving all operational aspects of the firm. In her role as Director of Insurance Client Services she is responsible for all aspects of obtaining new insurance policies and assuring proper maintenance of existing policies.

Janice coordinates the obtainment of new policies that includes generating quotes/proposals, obtaining medical records, scheduling medical exams, and obtaining preliminary underwriting pricing from various insurance carriers.She is the point of contact between the insurance company, medical examiners, medical facilities, and the client.

Janice also manages in-force policies to assure premiums are paid in a timely manner and policies are performing as anticipated. She coordinates policy service requests such as beneficiary or owner changes, policy loans, rate reductions and premium changes. She also coordinates periodic correspondence to clients regarding proper policy premium payments, policy performance and general policy maintenance.

Janice is also a member of the investment client service and investment operations teams. In those roles she assists with investment client service and various operations related activities.

Prior to joining Richardson, Janice spent over twenty-five years at FIS, a large technology service provider, serving in a variety of roles. In addition, Janice has many years of banking experience. Janice attended Southeast Missouri State University.

William Wertz is the founder and Principal at Wertz Advisory Services, LLC where he provides tax and general business consulting services. Bill joined the team at Richardson Financial Group in March 2016 to assist with strategic planning, marketing, tax and business consulting and relationship development and management.

Bill has over 35 years of experience providing a wide range of tax-related planning and compliance services as well as general business consulting services to high net worth individuals and closely held businesses. Bill was a Senior Tax Partner and Market Leader at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP until he retired in June 2014. During his tenure at Baker Tilly, he served on the firms Board of Partners and held various executive management positions. He continues to assist Baker Tilly with leadership training and development in a part-time capacity as an independent consultant.

While at Baker Tilly, Bill served as a frequent speaker for financial advisor firms across the country on tax and financial strategies facing advisors and their clients. As Market Leader, Bill was responsible for fostering and maintaining key relationships within the local business community, as well as identifying and ensuring participation in charitable and community based events.

Bill is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Tax Division, and of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Bill graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and with a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee.

Bill is widely involved in the professional world and extends that involvement throughout the community. He currently serves on the board of directors and is the Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund, and is a member of the Greater Milwaukee Committee. Bill previously served on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Southeast Wisconsin and was the Corporate Chairman for the 2010 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Walk for a Cure. Previously, Mr. Newman was President and CEO of Rexworks, Inc., a Milwaukee based public company that manufactured large industrial machinery for the cement and waste reduction industries. In addition, Mr. Newman has been the Senior Managing Director of the Kotler Marketing Group, a Washington, D.C. based marketing organization that conducts specialized marketing consulting work for Fortune 500 companies around the world. Mr. Newman spent over 33 years with S.C. Johnson Wax in senior management and marketing leadership roles including Executive Vice-President Asia Pacific, Executive Vice-President Worldwide Service Business, and Senior Vice-President Corporate Planning Development and Acquisitions.

Mr. Newman has participated in the writing of three books on corporate development and strategic acquisition planning. He serves as a director and advisor to a number of operating companies and their senior executives. Mr. Newman speaks regularly at university and business forums on business strategy, acquisitions, and business development.
