Daniel Brown

Daniel Brown is the Director of Investment Management at Richardson. Dan’s responsibilities include investment research and portfolio management. In addition, Dan serves as a senior member of the client relationship team. Dan also serves as a Member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Investment Committee.

In his role as Director of Investment Management, Dan is responsible for overseeing the management of the investment strategies utilized in client portfolios. This includes investment due diligence/selection, portfolio construction, asset allocation and rebalancing of client portfolios.

Dan joined Richardson in May 2017 with over 20 years of investment management experience managing diversified portfolios, equity mutual funds and separate account strategies. Prior to joining Richardson, he was an Investment Officer at a local wealth management company where he was responsible for investment due diligence/selection, portfolio construction and asset allocation.

Previously, Dan spent 20 years at BMO Global Asset Management (formerly M&I Investment Management Corporation) where he held a variety of investment management roles. Dan was the Fund Manager of the BMO Dividend Income Mutual Fund and BMO Large-Cap Value Mutual Fund. In addition, Dan ran the firm’s Tax Efficient Portfolio Strategy and the Socially Responsible and Fundamental Index strategies.

Dan earned his BBA from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where he majored in Finance. Dan also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
